Whether the rules designate if your car needs a fire suppression system or not, it is always a good idea to have a proper way of extinguishing a fire in your racecar. Fire Suppression systems are meant to keep the flames off of your body long enough to exit the car, or in many cases will actually put out the fire. A high quality fire suppression system is always money well spent for the peace of mind you will gain by knowing if a fire were to happen in your car, you will have a method of helping to put it out. 5XR Tip: SCCA Showroom Stock, IT, Spec Miata, and other production based racecar rules require at least a hand held fire extinguisher in your car. If you want to upgrade (highly recommended) to a fire suppression system, any fire suppression system regardless of size and substance will do, as it supersedes any hand held extinguisher requirement.
