Description

Carbotech Brake Pads utilize a ceramic and metallic construction in a range of compounds that out-perform other competitive brakes in the industry. Carbotech Brakes are made from compounds that offer higher initial bite, torque, and fade resistance - providing consistent brake modulation and performance over a wide range of operating temperatures. Carbotech Brake Pads are used extensively in club racing, autocross, time attack/trials, and heavy use/high performance street vehicles around the world with many championships to their name. Carbotech Brakes have also enjoyed tremendous success in the popular Spec Miata class using the XP10 compounds on the front matched with the XP8 compound in the rear. You can always contact us for assistance in finding the right brake compounds as well as advice on mixing the compounds for brake bias on cars that use factory non-adjustable brake systems. Carbotech Brake Pads can be ordered "Pre-Bedded" to eliminate the time consuming process of bedding in new brake pads on the track or street. For an additional cost you can receive your pads race ready with the only requirements being new rotors or rotors that have previously been used with Carbotech Brake Pads.

Carbotech Compounds:

Carbotech 1521
The Carbotech 1521 is a high performance street compound. The 1521 compound is known for its release and modulation, along with unmatched rotor friendliness. 1521 is also a very low dusting and low noise compound with an excellent initial bite. This compound's excellent linear torque production provides incredible braking force without ABS intervention. Carbotech 1521 operating range starts out at ambient and goes up to 800°F (426°C+). 1521 is suitable for ALL street cars, perfect for your tow vehicle or fleet vehicle. Carbotech 1521 is NOT recommended for ANY track use.

Carbotech AX6
The AX6 is specifically engineered for Autocross applications. A high torque brake compound delivering reliable and consistent performance over a very wide operating temperature range of 50°F to 1100°F + (10°C to 593°C+). The advanced compound matrix provides an excellent initial bite, high coefficient of friction at lower temperatures along with very progressive brake modulation and release characteristics. AX6 offers high fade resistance, rotor friendliness at all temperatures and excellent cold stopping power. As a result, AX6 is an excellent choice for Autocross and has gained tremendous popularity with SCCA Prosolo/Solo2 competitors for its outstanding all around performance. Many drivers use the AX6 for street driving as well, even though Carbotech doesn't recommend street driving with AX6 due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. AX6 is NOT recommended as race compounds in most applications.

Carbotech XP8
A high torque brake compound with a wide operating temperature range of 200°F-1350°F+ (93°C to 732°C+). Carbotech XP8 is the first of our racing compounds. Good initial bite at race temperatures, high coefficient of friction, excellent modulation and release characteristics. Extremely high fade resistance and very rotor friendly. Excellent as a front brake pad for lighter applications weighing around 2,400lbs or less. Perfect for track day use with any tire and can still be driven safely to and from the track. Carbotech does NOT recommended XP8 as a daily driven street pad due to elevated levels of dust and noise. Carbotech XP8 is a great compound on the front & rear of most open wheel and sports racers.

Carbotech XP10
When Carbotech™ unleashed the XP10 to the general public it was an instant success. XP10 immediately gathered multiple regional, divisional, and national championships. The XP10 has a very strong initial bite friction material with a coefficient of friction and rotor friendliness unmatched in the industry. Fade resistance is in excess of 1650°F (898°C). Due to the high level of friction and bite, this material is recommended for cars weighing around 2,900lbs or less. XP10 still maintains the highly praised release, excellent modulation and rotor friendliness that have made all Carbotech compounds so successful. Carbotech XP10 is not recommended as a daily-driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise.

Carbotech XP12
Another highly successful XP series compound with an excellent initial bite, torque and fade resistance over and above the XP10 compound. XP12 has temperature range of 250°F to 2000°F+ (121°C to 1093°C+). The XP12 has that excellent Carbotech release and modulation that has made all other Carbotech compounds so successful. The XP12 is more rotor aggressive than XP10, but compared to the competition the XP12 is still very rotor friendly. XP12 is NOT recommended for use as a daily driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise.

Carbotech XP16
Carbotech XP16 is a step up from the highly successful XP12 compound. With an aggressive initial bite, torque and fade resistance, and higher than our XP12 compound. XP16 has a temperature range of 250°F to 2000°F+ (121°C to 1093°C+). Carbotech XP16 has outstanding release and modulation that has made all other Carbotech compounds so successful. The XP16 is the most rotor aggressive compound from Carbotech, but compared to its competition the XP16 is still very rotor friendly. Carbotech XP16 is NOT recommended for use as a daily driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise.

Carbotech XP20
The latest iteration of the highly successful XP series of compounds. XP20 is a step up from the highly successful XP16 compound. With an extremely aggressive initial bite, the most linear torque curve to date and excellent fade resistance the XP20 leads the highly successful XP series line of compounds from Carbotech. XP20 has a temperature range of 275°F to 2000°F+ (135°C to 1093°C+). Carbotech XP20 maintains our tradition of having the outstanding release and modulation that has made all other Carbotech compounds so successful. The XP20 as with other Carbotech compounds is very rotor friendly. Carbotech XP20 is NOT recommended for use as a daily driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise.

Carbotech RP2
The RP2 compound was engineered for endurance racing based on our highly successful XP Series formulations. RP2 is our longest lasting compound that we offer. RP2 has strong initial bite, a little less modulation than our XP12, but still maintains the rotor friendliness of our XP series compounds. With a good initial bite and one of the most consistent torque curves in the market the RP2 compound is easy to keep a consistent bite and torque throughout the braking zone. Great fade resistance with a temperature range of 250°F to 1650°F+ (121°C to 898°C). RP2 is as rotor friendly as our XP series compounds. Carbotech RP2 is NOT recommended for use as a daily driven street pad due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise.
