Mazda OEM Rear Main Crankshaft Seal for Mazda Miata

Do you have oil on the bottom of your transmission? Most older Miata's so, and it's almost definitely your rear main seal. When it comes time to replace that clutch or transmission, be sure to always do the rear main seal at the same time, it's a cheap investment not to have to remove the transmission again a few thousand miles down the road just for a $25 seal! Also, DO NOT use an aftermarket rear main seal from the parts store or anything other than an OEM seal because they are junk! We've learned this the hard way with having to replace an aftermarket seal once or twice almost immediately after installation. Once the OEM seal was reinstalled, the leaks stopped. Believe us and don't waste effort, time, and money on having to do the job twice because of an aftermarket seal!
