Fits all Miatas (choose application or heat range using dropdown menu)
Manufacturer Heat Ranges: 6 (standard heat range for 1.6L) or 5 (standard heat range on 1.8L)
Ground Electrode Tip Reach: 0.75
The extended reach means the burn starts closer to the center of the combustion chamber due to a longer ground electrode (bottom of the spark plug), giving improved efficiency and power.
The spark plug heat range has no relationship to the electrical energy transferred through the spark plug. The heat range of a spark plug is the range in which the plug works well thermally. The heat rating of each NGK Spark Plug is indicated by a number; lower numbers indicate a hotter type, higher numbers indicate a colder type. With modified engines (those engines that have increased their compression,) more heat is a by-product of the added power that normally comes with increased compression. In short, select one heat range colder for every 75-100 hp you add, or when you significantly raise compression.
