This product comes in two different versions. One for racecars that use hood pins to latch the hood and have the factory hood latch removed, and one that has a cutout for the factory hood latch for cars that still have them installed. Also, some relocation of components mounted on top of the radiator seal plate area may be necessary because our plate is designed to provide a tight seal and sit flat on top of the radiator support bracket, sandwiched in between the bumper mounting bracket and top of the radiator support beam.

This product was designed by us to eliminate having to use the cheap looking, dirty, warped factory radiator seal plate (black plastic thing in between the top of the radiator and front bumper lip) that comes installed on Mazda Miata's (and not at all on some!). We have used this product on our race cars for years to replace the factory plastic junk, it is lightweight, nice looking, strong, and will create a more solid seal to direct the air coming through the front bumper opening through your radiator and not over the top of it by escaping through the large openings.

This is a serious racing product that is designed to go underneath the bumper mounting bracket, not on top of it like other plates out there. While it is possible to install it on top of the bumper mounting bracket, we make our parts very precise and tight fitting to ensure a great seal before worrying about looks (function before form is the way us racers think), so it might require a little trimming on the front part to make it fit better. We just unbolt the front bumper, pull it away from the car and up, then slide these plates underneath the bumper mounting bracket and use the original bolts to fasten it in place (see pics). For you hardcore guys that are planning to use it for a street car, it will work for you either way, on top of the bumper mounting bracket or underneath it. Also, if you still have the factory hood latch in place, be sure to choose our version that has the cutout for the latch.

If you have a street car with the hood latch and other components still mounted, it is possible that some relocation of certain components that are mounted in the area of the plate depending on the year of your car and components fitted.
