Description

Our Miata Track Spec Transmission Pack will set you up with everything needed to prepare your Miata for a track outing or to get it up to race spec if you're a daily corner carver. This is what we recommend to anyone that is going to race, drift, auto-x, track day, or slam gears on the street. From our extensive racing experience, we've learned what breaks and wears out, and what doesn't, so we don't add in anything you won't actually need, like most of the things included in the other shifter rebuild kits you'll find out there.

Here's what's included in our Track Spec Transmission Pack:

5X Racing Aluminum Shifter Bushing
Our custom aluminum bushing will replace your weak factory plastic bushing that is either already broken, or will break soon! If your shifter has an enormous amount of play in neutral and is very hard to shift fast, you most likely have a broken plastic bushing. Our aluminum bushing will fix this problem forever.

OEM Anti-Rotation Shifter Bushing (1990-1997 only)
This is the small plastic insert that is on the front side of the shifter ball. It keeps the shifter laterally placed and is often cracked, broken, or brittle from age. This doesn't break as quick as the shifter bushing at the bottom, but will break eventually on the track where you shift hard on every gear change.

OEM Lower Shift Boot Insulator
This is the rubber boot that goes directory over your shifter base and is one of the first things to deteriorate on a Miata. A torn lower insulator will make a shifter feel sloppy and will allow the outside elements in the transmission cavity.

OEM Upper Shift Boot Insulator
This is the big black rubber boot you see when you remove the center console. This boot is thin and weak, it will split over time with age and hard use. Also, if you have a stripped interior, this boot keeps fumes and heat under the car. If it is split, you will be directly exposed to the elements churning around under the car.

2 quarts of Red Line MTL Transmission Fluid
We've experimented with all sorts of fluids in our Spec Miata race cars, and this is a known secret in the SM community. MTL is the ONLY fluid we've found that will allow your Miata to not miss the 2nd to 3rd upshift. We've fought problems at certain tracks where the Miata gearbox will grind or miss the 2-3 shift, and the problem was simply solved by replacing the fluid and filling it with the MTL.

After prepping your Miata with our Pack, it will be ready for the track and you can rest assured a simple cheap part will not cause your expensive weekend to end.
