  • Bio: John has been a lifelong participant in racing and a racer himself. John grew up with racing as his father Rick was a professional boat racer in the International Outboard Grand Prix. Growing up longing to be a race boat driver, John was introduced to go kart racing on Long Island, New York. John began racing go karts at the age of 8 with the Eastern Kart Racing Association, and within the four years John and his father were winning virtually every race they entered. The move to Florida at the age of 12 marked the end of kart racing for John, as there were no kart road courses in the area at that time. From age 12 to 17 John's focus shifted from racing to hockey, which he was equally successful at playing on tournament teams that traveled thoughout Florida. At the age of 18 John got into performance cars and began racing a 1987 Mustang GT in local autocross events. From ages 18-24 the need for road racing compelled John to customize his 2001 Mustang GT for autocross and open track events. As many road racers will agree, the natural road racing progression took place and John formed 5x Racing in early 2006 to race in the SCCA Spec Miata Class.
