5x Racing has established the first direct dealership for Rumblestrip Racing's awesome new lap timers. Designed and built by Koni Challenge and California Spec Miata racer Magnus Karlsson, these timers were made for Spec Miata's. They can be used in any vehicle, but for the Spec Miata crowd you can't go wrong with either the DLT1 or DLT2 timers. The blend of great price value and feature loaded operation make the timers the new "hot part" in Spec Miata. One of the greatest features of the timers is the predictive lap time feature, which essentially informs the driver if they are going faster or slower than their best lap every 40 feet! It is a real time lap timer, it tells you where you were faster, where you were slower, and much more. This timer is a great tool for drivers during practice and qualifying sessions, as they can work on new lines and braking points around the track to see where time can be made up. Not tech savvy? No worries, both Rumblestrip Racing timers do not require any complex laptop programming or set-up. There are many more features that other timers in this price range do not have, such as: Digital RPM display, Digital Speed Display, Race Clock, programmable shift lights, etc... and these are just a few of the features, Check out the timers product pages for all the features!

    Timer Q & A:

Q: What do I need to install a DLT series timer in my Spec Miata?

    • A: You need a timer kit, such as the DLT1 or DLT2, a transmitter beacon, and the optional wheel sensor bracket, that's it! There can only be one AIM Trackside Beacon in use at the track, having multiple beacons will give the system false readings. So if you know a fellow racer that has an AIM beacon, the system will use it, so in certain cases you might not even need to purchase your own beacon.

Q: What system does it use to determine the Start/Finish line? The AMB system, or GPS?

    • A: Neither, it uses a transmitting beacon from either a AIM Mycron system, or the Longacre Hot Lap system. The AIM beacon is recommended, and 5x Racing has both available.

Q: Do I need a computer to set-it up or check the lap times?

    • A: No, you do not need any computer to set up the timers, or to check the lap times. All of the set-up procedures are performed on the timer itself, the instructions outline everything you need to know. You can also scroll through the timer after the race to record your lap times, there is a 115 lap memory.

Q: Can I use this timer for practice days or time trials?

    • A: Yes. The timer uses the beacon to determine the start/finish line, it is a self contained system and is not dependent on anything else.

Q: I still have more questions, how do I find out more?

    • A: Simple, just email us using the form at the bottom of the page!
