What is it?

    What is it made of?

  • The 5XR Grip Plate is is made out of .040 lightweight aluminum covered with our top secret non-abrasive grip surface

    Does it have skateboard grip tape?

  • NO! It is our top secret non-abrasive grip material

    Will it eat up my race shoes?

  • NO WAY! The grip surface is not abrasive and will not wear out your shoes but will grip just as good as skateboard grip tape

    How do I install it?

  • The 5XR Grip Plate is installed using 4 self tapping metal screws. Just drill it into your bare floorboard and your ready to go!

    The owners and racers at 5x Racing have been brainstorming about innovative new products for the racing community since we started racing Miata's years ago. Many of days have been spent at our race shop staring at our Spec Miata race cars thinking about how we can make them faster, easier to drive, more reliable, more comfortable, better looking, and it had to be something that was not already available in the Spec Miata marketplace. The first product we developed was our 5XR Grip Plate, it has been in use in our race cars for over 3 years and has became something that we now cannot race without. It is also something that is overlooked as far as race parts go, as most of us have learned to deal with the uneven footwell floorpans in our racecars. With the 5XR Grip Plate you will instantly see the benefits the first time you hop in the car, literally!

    The Grip Plate makes driving more comfortable by having a more solid feeling down on the floor pan than carpet or a bare floor pan will ever do! The feeling of your shoes in correlation to the floor and pedals is much more secure. Driving would not feel the same with out it. Felt worlds better the moment i put it in.

    Couldn't be easier to install. It makes a big difference having a nice flat surface instead of the factory contoured pan. The grip material works great and is not abrasive at all.
