You must purchase the additional Steering Wheel Adapter to mount your aftermarket Momo, Sparco, or OMP racing wheels to this quick disconnect. The quick disconnect has a 3-hole mounting configuration and most aftermarket wheels have a 6-bolt mounting configuration. Please choose to add the adapter from the dropdown list above to purchase everything needed to give yourself a complete quick disconnect kit.
The best Miata QD system on the market
The steering shaft adapter is a thread on piece with 2 set screws that threads on the existing steering shaft in 1990-2005 Mazda Miata's and 2006+ Mazda MX5's. The splined adapter comes complete with quick release hub. The adapter is roughly 4" in length and extends the steering wheel rearward roughly 2" closer to the driver. Even though the adaptor is thread on, we recommend that you tack weld the steering shaft adapter to the stock steering shaft for added security. Allows you to retain the stock Mazda turn signal assembly with some minor adjustments.
New Design - The QD now has 3 locations that index instead of 2 like all the others on the market, so it makes for a slop free precise design.
If you measure the dash from where the interior light dimmer switch is located back to the center of the steering wheel:

Just got things installed not too long ago. No chance to race yet since the season is over up north here. Appears to be an excellent package. No play. Easy Operation. Straight forward installation. Positioning seems perfect with my limited seat time. Basic instructions are included from Miatacage for the proper attachment of the steering column adapter. Shipped separately from Miatacage.com so generally out of 5X's control but I did not receive the same color adapter as requested. This is no big deal as I would have preferred to receive sooner rather than later if one was out of stock anyway, but they never checked to see if that was actually the case. The bolts holding the the adapter to the QR needed to be shimmed with washers to allow a tight fit. Again not a deal breaker since I had them lying around. They may be designed to allow for adding additional items like radio buttons or something to be put between the adapter and wheel or that 3 bolt steering wheels are thicker than the provided 6 bolt adapter, but it seemed a little odd it was not mentioned at all in the instructions. A few oddities but nothing that would likely impact the intended serious racing audience. Quality product for a better price than even the shady NRG stuff.
