5X Racing Extended Length Clutch Line for Mazda Miata
Miata Clutch Line
Our Extended clutch line is longer than OEM rubber hose, and is designed to replace the OEM rubber hose, and along with that also replaces the coiled hard line bolted to the transmission. It does NOT replace the hard line from the master cylinder!
Description
Ever remove an engine, transmission, or even slave cylinder from your Miata? If so, you'll know how much of a pain in the rear end it is dealing with the very stubborn factory coiled hard line assembly that goes from the soft rubber hose on the firewall connection to the slave cylinder is.
The way the clutch lines are designed on a Miata leave a lot to be improved. A hard line goes from the clutch master cylinder to the passenger side firewall where it then converts to a flexible rubber line. The rubber line goes for about 10 inches then converts back to a solid hard line that does a loop and then into the slave cylinder. Our full length clutch line is far superior to the factory setup because it connects at the firewall and runs all the way to the slave cylinder, allowing you to remove and eliminate the flexible rubber hose AND the solid line loop going into the slave cylinder.

This is yet another QUALITY part from 5X Racing.I can feel a difference in the feel of the clutch pedal and the way in engages and disengages the clutch. 1st into 2nd feels a little bit better, but 2nd into 3rd and into 4th feels way more direct. Pedal feels more solid than it did before too.

I installed this extended length clutch line from 5X Racing when rebuilding my 99's driveline. Installed quickly, smoothly, and works great. The real benefit is the fact that it replaced the coil used in the OEM configuration. Shipped quick too!

Comments:
This extended length clutch line is much better than the factory solution. The factory curled hardline is annoying to remove and gets in the way during trans removal or replacement and also seems to trap air when bleeding the clutch. 5X's extended clutch line allows you to simply unbolt the slave cyl. and tie out of the way during trans service. Clutch hydraulics are super fast to bleed with the extended line. Just elevate the slave cyl. to allow air in the line to rise to the bleed screw.

Getting the OEM rubber hose and curly metal line off was not a good experience. I would recommend disconnecting the rubber hose where it meets the curly metal line near the bell housing if I were to do this again.
The braided steel line installs really easily and bleeding was quick. I got the black finish on mine and I like that it blends in with the other lines in the area.
I would definitely go for this again just for how much it simplifies the clutch system.
