This is the "other" plastic part on your shifter base, which cannot really be described well... We call it: "The Anti Rotation Bushing" (it's for the groove on the shifter pivot)! Whatever it's real name is, it is very hard to describe to the parts people at your local Mazda dealership and almost impossible to find the part number for to tell the parts people. We take the hard work out of it for you and offer it here at a good price, with fast shipping (if it's in stock). A broken one of these will cause a sloppy side-to-side motion on your shifter, and cause you to miss shifts when in race mode. If this is broken along with the small cup bushing on the bottom of the shifter base (sold here as well too), you will have a totally uncooperative shifter, and will have a miserable driving experience.
