Urethane Spring Riser for 99-05 Miata Shock Mounts

A great way to lower your 1990-1997 Miata is to install a set of aftermarket lowering springs. The 1990-1997 Miata has an outdated shock hat design that limits the shock travel however, so upgrading to a 1999-2005 Miata's shock hat will provide about 3/4" more shock travel - however - this will also lower your car another 3/4" from where it sat with the original 90-97 shock hats. This will essentially "slam" the car and provide very little in regards to shock travel, which means the suspension will be riding on the bump stops constantly. If you would like to install the NB mounts on your NA using stock springs, you'll see a 3/4" drop just from the mounts. If you have lowering springs already and install the NB mounts, you'll see an another 3/4" drop from the mounts in addition to your lowering springs. This is too low for good performance, so installing these risers will allow you to get the benefit of additional shock travel via the NB mounts, but without "slamming" the car.
