5X Racing 14mm Miata Rear Sway Bar Bushings

When we set out to design a unique rear sway bar for the Miata, we didn't just want to lean on an major brand off-the-shelf bushing after going through all that effort, so we had our own sway bar bushings manufactured to our specifications! With much thought, we chose to go with an "all around" durometer that would suit the majority of our customers who use our rear sway bars, which are street/auto-x/track drivers. Off-the-shelf sway bar bushings like Energy Suspension and Prothane tend to use too stiff of a durometer, which essentially makes the bushing a solid mount in the same way as delrin plastic would. This doesn't help shock absorption and transmits noise and vibration into the passenger compartment, which is not desirable to anyone other than a race car driver! Our bushings find the sweet spot with an 80A durometer, which is in the middle of the OEM 70A durometer rubber bushings and the near-solid 95A durometer bushings the major brands offer. This will provide more performance than the OEM rubber bushings, but with less harshness associated with the "race" type bushings offered by the major brands. If you are interested in stiffer "race" style bushings, we also offer the Energy Suspension bushings in 14mm that we used to offer with our sway bars, but we're sure you'll like ours and won't need them!
